成人学生的压力

Being an adult student is hard because school is only one of my responsibilities. 作为一名成年学生很难，因为学业只是我众多责任中的一项。

I also have bills to pay, work schedules to juggle, and a family to care for. 我还有账单要付，工作时间要协调，以及一个家庭要照顾。

There are the payments, my car, my phone. 有各种账单要付，比如车贷、手机费。

I borrowed money for the car, 我借钱买了车，

and if I miss a payment, I'm charged a fee, 如果我错过一次还款，就会被收取滞纳金，

miss too many, and the bank takes it back. 错过太多次，银行就会把车收回去。

There is work, 还有工作，

whose schedule shifts every month. 工作时间每个月都在变。

Some months I can attend class three days a week. 有些月份我一周能上三天课。

Other months, only one. 其他月份，只能上一天。

And there is my family. 还有我的家人。

Some weeks I can't even find time for a movie with my wife. 有些星期我甚至找不到时间陪妻子看电影。

It is a lot of pressure. 这压力很大。

And yet, I am genuinely happy to be in school. 尽管如此，我还是很开心能上学。

I am learning English and learning about a new culture, and it is deeply rewarding. 我正在学习英语，了解一种新文化，这让我感到非常有意义。

Maybe that is what makes an adult student different. 也许这就是成年学生与众不同之处。

No one is making us do this. 没有人强迫我们这样做。

We carry all of it, 我们承担着所有这一切，

the bills, the work, the family, 账单、工作、家庭，

and we choose to add school on top 却选择在此之上再增加学业，

because we believe it leads somewhere better. 因为我们相信这会带来更好的未来。
